My Thoughts Today

September 27, 2009 - I found out today how important it is to follow the promptings of the Spirit. I know that as we strive to be obedient to the commandments, as we strive to read our scriptures daily, to pray daily and to live righteously, things can be known to us or given to us to say such as in a talk or lesson, for the benefit of ourselves or others. Once again, I have had a spiritual experience that had put me in awe as to the way the Spirit works. The details are not important, but what is important is that when we are prompted to do something or say something by the Spirit, we should not ignore it. And we should thank Heavenly Father for those promptings. As we strive to come closer to Jesus Christ and grow in His love we can be like Him. He loves us so much no matter who we are or what we have done. He loves us so much that he Atoned for our sins so that we have the opportunity to repent of them and gain eternal life. He knows us by name and He knows the desires of our heart. I know that the more in tune we are with the Lord, the more revelation we can receive. When we pass from this earth, one thing we will be able to take with us besides our testimony is knowledge. Do you do your genealogy? Do you know who your ancestors are? Wouldn't it be cool to know them as you do their work and then get to meet them in the eternities? Do you read your scriptures often? Have you gotten to know those you read about in the scriptures? We will see them in the next life and there are so many that I hope to have the opportunity to meet and to thank. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he is the son of our Heavenly Father. I know that He Atoned for our sins so that we may obtain eternal life. I know that Joseph Smith was the one chosen to restore the true church to the earth, to restore the Priesthood and to bring forth the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is our Prophet today and the counsel he gives us is from God of the things that we need to be doing in this life. I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves us. I know that we can have that same love for our brothers and sisters as Jesus Christ has for us. Charity IS the pure love of Christ. Learn to serve and to serve willingly with love in your hearts. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Michael and Donna's Wedding

September 19, 2009 - Michael and Donna were married today. The wedding and reception was really nice and I know we all had a great time (especially mom aka gramma Catherine, and great-gramma Catherine,...who was flinging things off a spoon). No kidding...it's true. I was there. I got hit with a flying object. Remember those food fights in the high school cafeteria? Let the good times roll!

Ryan and Collin

September 12, 2009 - I know....I am pushing the holiday; but I love the holidays. Here the boys are coloring pictures and making Halloween decorations. We will be making more as we get into October. Ryan colored a pumpkin and traced a bat and colored it. Collin colored two pages in his coloring book. Nice job boys! Then at Ryan's suggestion, he wanted to watch a Christmas video. Again, pushing the holidays....they are both quietly watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".

Collin at the Park

September 5, 2009 - Collin spent the night last night and slept all night long. We decided to go to the park for a while today while my laundry was drying. Collin said he had fun playing over there. Here are a few clips from the park.
