Week 2 of the Biggest Loser

January 27, 2009 - This was not a good week for most of us on the team. I only lost a half a pound, but it doesn't matter because it was a loss, not a gain. However, the trophy was passed on to someone who lost more weight. This week, I am going to try and lose more than half a pound, remembering too, that it isn't good to lose a whole lot of weight each week, because when the eight weeks is up, if you don't stick to what you were doing, the weight will all come back in a matter of less then a week.

I was this week's BIGGEST LOSER

On January 13, 2009 at work, I decided to join in eight weeks of "The Biggest Loser". There are 13 women and 10 men competing; of course, the women against the women and the men against the men. The entry fee was $20.00 and everyone was on their own as far as diet and exercise. With me, my problem has always been portion control. I love food! I should probably have lived by "if it tastes good, don't eat it". But being the weak person I am when it comes to food, my motto was "if it tastes good, have a second helping". One of my weaknesses has always been chocolate cake with home made butter cream frosting, or chocolate cake with milk chocolate frosting. I love all food except for liver. I just can't force myself to eat it. So, I have had to make some changes in my life. I now eat more fruits and vegetables and by the end of eight weeks, I will no longer be a human with this body. I will be a rabbit with a twitching nose. All kidding aside, the television show "The Biggest Loser" has been an inspiration to me, and even with some of my disabilities, I still try and do what I can as far as exercise. I have changed my pattern of eating by having smaller portions, and no longer have second helpings. The first week weigh in, January 20th, I lost seven pounds and was the biggest loser for the week. We are given a trophy that says "I was this week's Biggest Loser" on it, which next week may or may not go on to another person depending on who has lost the most weight for week two. It is an incentive and we try to be supportive of one another. I forgot to mention that whoever has lost the most weight at the end of the eight weeks, gets the money. Thirteen players times twenty dollars equals $260.00. Now there's an incentive! No matter how much weight I lose and whether I win or not doesn't matter. The plan is to eat healthier, to keep the weight off, and to live longer.

The New Year

This is the first time I have ever had a blog, so I am new at this. Yesterday, January 12, 2009, I started the Biggest Loser at work. There are thirteen women and ten men playing, but it will be girls against girls and boys against boys. We all thru in $20.00 to start. At the end the one who has lost the most percentage of weight since they started stands to win something like $260.00. So, this will be interesting. I need to lose weight for a lot of reasons, so I decided to give this a try and even if I don't win, I will have lost some weight in the process. The T.V. show, The Biggest Loser, as hard as it looks sometimes, has inspired me to try to lose weight and hopefully live longer. We get weighed every Tuesday. I will keep you posted on how well I do (or don't do). Some idiot brought donuts into work today, and one of them was calling my name. Okay, I had a taste. Basically I have been eating alot of vegetables. The first day I actually had a stomach ache. I am only used to chocolate, cookies, cake and things like. My body wasn't used to the good stuff.

Last night was the first night of American Idol. What was with that girl in the bathing suit, Simon's eyes popping out of his head, and her kissing Ryan S. I did not think her singing was good at all. Personally, I don't think Simon was even listening to a note she sang.
